Artificial Intelligence, man, it’s the future and everyone knows it. There are already applications pervading society, like ChatGPT, that we see being used every day. Where it’s gonna be implemented in the smart home industry is evolving every day, and the electronic/smart security market has been the first sector to truly benefit from AI, particularly in video surveillance cameras.
In terms of product technologies, the possibilities for AI in the custom integration industry are huge. Integrators are seeking to improve their digital presence, and marketing specialist Ron Callis, co-founder and CEO of a company using AI, is implementing AI into the business in very cool ways.
They’re using Fathom to record meetings and create AI summaries, which is incredibly helpful during client discovery meetings. Their paid advertising team uses Shape to monitor the ad spend on clients’ Google Ad campaigns and adjust the budget as needed. The content team utilizes MarketMuse and NeuronWriter to produce more relevant content for clients targeted around SEO topics and keyword strategies. Plus, they’re using generative imagery tools to find high-quality imagery for industry presentations and webinars. They’re implementing AI into every facet of their business and have big plans in the works for 2024.
The AI Council they created will analyze the company’s products and services and prioritize them to receive AI optimizations. And Callis has some advice for integrators who want to apply AI tools and methods on their own. He recommends starting at the foundational level – ChatGPT. Get really good at prompt engineering in ChatGPT, and train the tool to understand your voice, culture, and audience.
AI is coming for every area of business – sales, marketing, HR, hiring, onboarding, training, finance, project management, customer service, warehouse and inventory management, etc. There are endless possibilities and applying AI tools to solve problems and aid growth is a powerful way to stay ahead of the curve.
Let’s not be afraid of AI, man. Understand it, and turn your fear into curiosity and your curiosity into results to help you grow.
AXIS Communications recently unveiled new additions to its video surveillance portfolio, leveraging AI. It includes cameras equipped with a deep learning processing unit (DLPU) that eliminates the need for expensive servers and allows for a faster and more scalable system when installing. These cameras are also able to run metadata and AXIS Object Analytics streams on multiple channels to detect and classify people and vehicles entering a user-defined area.
They’re also updating their Objects Analytics with new features to count objects that cross a virtual tripwire and provide an estimate of occupancy levels in real-time. The possibilities are endless, man. AI is the future, embrace it. Don’t fear it, understand it and utilize it to push yourself forward.
