Alright, so this Elon Musk AI called Grok AI is off to a pretty rough start, man. It’s already out here trashing Musk himself and getting all political and stuff – not really a great look.
But now, on top of all that, people are starting to notice that Grok might be straight up copying its competitor, ChatGPT, which is made by Musk’s former friends turned enemies at OpenAI. Like, what’s the deal with that?
And get this, when asked about it, one of the xAI engineers named Igor Babuschkin basically said, “Oops, our bad. We accidentally picked up some ChatGPT stuff when training Grok on web data. Our bad, guys.”
Whether that’s true or not, it’s no secret that things can get pretty funky when AI start pulling from each other. And it’s not the first time something like this has happened.
So, yeah, it sounds like Grok might not have been thoroughly tested before it was released into the wild. And people are definitely not letting them off the hook for it. I mean, one NBC reporter even went as far as to say, “We plagiarized your plagiarism so we could put plagiarism in your plagiarism.” Ouch.
