Philip Logan, the COO of Royal Orchid Hotels & Regenta Hotels, was all about highlighting the power of AI and technology. He was like, “AI is gonna completely change the way we do business, dude. But hey, let’s not forget that technology is just there to support the service.”
He made a good point, man. AI can totally step up the game when it comes to guest service by giving quicker responses, making financial tasks smoother, and even automating certain things. Logan also predicted a shift from those old-fashioned servers to cloud-based solutions. Technology is moving fast, bro, especially in India where they’re leading the way in all these advancements.
And get this, Logan said his company is already using AI. They got five hotels using it for revenue management, and they’re planning to roll it out to a whopping 98 hotels within six weeks. That’s insane, man!
Nilesh Patel, the Director of IT at Accor, was all about how AI is gonna be a key player in the future of the hospitality industry. He was like, “AI is gonna be the thing, man. It’s gonna change everything.”
According to Patel, personalization is super important for guests throughout their entire journey, from booking to check-out. And guess what? AI can make that happen by offering personalized discounts based on guest behavior. Like, if you’re searching for spa services, AI can hook you up with some sick deals, man.
Then Sameer Singh, Senior Vice President at Lemon Tree Hotels, started talking about the challenges brought on by COVID-19. He said that talent and retention has been a real struggle, man. The staff numbers have gone down, and it’s been tough.
But Singh believes that AI can totally take over those repetitive tasks and ease the burden on the staff. He also thinks conversational AI is gonna be huge, helping out call centers, in-room dining, and reservation centers.
Now, Vivek Gangishetty, the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at RMS Cloud, wanted to make it clear that technology is not here to replace humans. He said, “Nah, man. Technology is here to help us, not replace us.”
Gangishetty believes that technology can empower hotels to improve their services and operations. It’s all about using tech as a tool to make things better, man.
