So, check this out: ChatGPT’s got like hundreds of millions of users, right? Yeah, well, they were left high and dry today because OpenAI, who owns the whole shebang, reported a major outage across the platform and APIs. They identified the problem at 0554 PT, and said they were working on fixing it, and I guess they did, ’cause they said services were starting to come back only about an hour later.
And get this, you remember that new model they announced last week? GPT-4 Turbo? Well, it sounds pretty sick. Apparently it can handle lengthy prompts and has the freshest info up to 2023. Yeah, way better than what the older models could handle.
But it wasn’t just ChatGPT that was acting up. There was this other AI bot called Claude that was crapping out, too. The bot said it couldn’t handle the demand. No word from the Anthropic folks who are behind that yet. So it’s still kind of a bumpy ride out there in AI land, you know?
So the ChatGPT is still kind of shaky, but OpenAI’s saying that Claude might not be totally down and out. They’ve made some changes to handle the capacity. Oh, and apparently OpenAI’s blaming the interruptions on loading issues.
Hopefully, it’s all smooth sailing from here on out. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes. Peace!
